Sports Relief

The week of 18th of March was Sports Relief and everyone took part in a Triathlon (of sorts) to raise money. The aim was to travel as far as France (380 miles). The children were sponsored to complete a variety of activities:

Green and Yellow Zone rode the Balance bikes on the playground.

12 children from Red and Blue zone went to the Lakeside centre to swim as many lengths as possible.

The whole school took part in a run/ walk on the school grounds. Pupils ran/walked as far as they could around a designated circuit.

We exceeded our target, completing over 500miles across the week. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to everyone that sponsored us to reach our target.

In total, we raised an amazing £621.50 towards Sports Relief.

Throughout the year, pupils have opportunities to participate in a range of inter and intra school competitions and events. In addition to the North Tyneside PE and Sports SLA programme in association with the School Games, we have also joined the Wanderers Sports Association. The Wanderers Sports association is an organisation which provides a variety of sporting events for children and young people with SEN. These programmes will enable us to increase sporting and competitive opportunities for all pupils within Benton Dene School.

Take a look at some of the competitions and events we have taken part in.
