Red 2

Summer Term

What will Home-School learning look like in Red 2?

Your child will come home with a reading book every night, except for Friday when we must quarantine them over the weekend. Please read this book with your child, asking them questions about what they have read and making connections to events in their own lives. There will also be weekly spellings; please practise these with your child, and create sentences containing these words. Ask your child to remember one of the sentences and write it down, remembering their finger spaces, capital letters, punctuation and spellings.

It would be great if you could practise any of your child’s IPP targets at home too.

How can you share your child’s Home-School learning with us?

Please write a comment in the reading record, letting us know how well your child read their book and spelt their key words. You can also contact us via seesaw at any time to share good news; we love hearing what the children do at home!

In Maths, children have been halving using play dough, and folding paper in half accurately.
In English we have written sentences about sea creatures from our story. We read them to our friends, and they had to guess which creature we had written about.
In Science we have been naming the parts of a plant. We went to the allotment and pulled out some weeds- we noticed they had roots, a stem, leaves and a flower.
